Minister of Communications (South Africa)

The Minister of Communications (formerly Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Broadcasting) is a Minister in the Government of South Africa, who between 1994 and 2014 was responsible for overseeing the Department of Communications. In 2014, President Jacob Zuma shifted this function to the newly created position of Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Service. The post of Minister of Communications has been retained, but the Minister is now responsible for overseeing the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Brand SA, Film and Publication Board (), and the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA).
